The Royal Thai Government is boosting Thai tourism in late 2023 with a campaign offering temporary free visa for Chinese and Kazakhstani tourists (visa exemption with no fee). Tourists from these countries can stay in Thailand for up to 30 days. This policy will be in effect for a period of 5 months, starting from September 25, 2023, to February 29, 2024.
Recently, the Department of Immigration has issued an announcement in line with the government’s policy, and it is expected that this measure will facilitate the convenience for Chinese and Kazakhstani tourists who intend to travel to Thailand during the tourist season or from the end of September until February 2567 (2024), which is considered the high season for Thailand.
Furthermore, this period coincides with the Chinese National Day, during which most Chinese people take a break or travel for an extended holiday. This year, it falls on September 29th to October 6th, 2023. As for Kazakhstan, it is currently an emerging market with high potential, and it is expected that Kazakhstani tourists will also travel during this time. Historical statistics indicate that they are a nationality that consistently travels to Thailand.
