Items that are prohibited from being imported or exported by law are strictly prohibited. Importer of “Prohibited Goods”, e.g., drugs, pornography materials, imitation products or products that infringe copyright and intellectual property, counterfeit banknotes or coins, and preserved wildlife or animals on the CITES control list, is subject to legal offenses.
For the import and export of the “Restricted Goods”, it must obtain a written authorization from the relevant government agency or a certificate or appropriate practice under the rules and conditions of the relevant agency. Before importing and exporting the Restricted Goods such as Buddha images, artifacts, antiques, firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and imitation firearms, plants and parts of plants, live animals and carcasses, wild animals and carcasses, food, drugs, cosmetics, dietary supplements, medical devices, vehicle parts, cigarettes, tobacco, alcoholic beverages, radio communication tool, telecommunication equipment (as determined by the NBTC), IPR products, electronic cigarettes, or products that are under an imports/exports control policy, the license must be presented during customs procedures.
