The government amended the law to facilitate business operations

Update on Good News in the Thai Business Sector especially for those who need to contact and receive various services from the government, the government has announced progress on the “Policy to Improve Laws for Business Facilitation.” Multiple government agencies have been tasked with addressing issues related to law enforcement concerning public services and business operations.

This aims to streamline processes for individuals who need to submit requests for permits or seek services from government agencies, making these processes quicker and more efficient. Enhancing this efficiency will help the business sector improve its competitiveness on the international stage and stay current with global trends and situations.

Specifically related to the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry in the Event sector, the following updates have been made:

Laws have been amended to facilitate the organization of mega-events, music festivals or concerts, and exhibitions held in Thailand.

• Music festivals or concerts sponsored by government agencies. It is work that is necessary or urgent or special. In the case of coming to perform for no more than 15 days without having to apply for a work permit (Work Permit) to reduce obstacles in applying for work permits for foreigners who come to work at concerts and international music festivals in Thailand.
• Director General of the Department of Employment Announcements have been issued regarding work that is necessary or urgent or special work.By adding item 13, work supported by government agencies is as follows:

– Organizing mega events or organizing international festivals

– International music festival or concert

• Effective from 25 June 2024 onwards.
