Good news for travelers worldwide and Thai entrepreneurs! The Thai government is set to boost tourism throughout 2025 to stimulate the nation’s economy. The year will be designated as “AMAZING THAILAND GRAND TOURISM & SPORTS YEAR 2025”, featuring tourism activities and sports events highlighted by five major campaigns:
- Grand Festival: Hosting large-scale events throughout the year as a primary attraction while providing comprehensive travel convenience through all available modes of transport.
- Grand Moment: Offering unique and exclusive travel routes for extraordinary experiences.
- Grand Privilege: Combining shopping, tour packages, flight tickets, and seamless payment options for ease of use.
- Grand Invitation: Inviting world-renowned personalities—such as singers, musicians, athletes, and Nobel laureates—to visit Thailand throughout the year, promoting tourism and sharing their experiences.
- Grand Celebration: Organizing celebratory events for various festivals all year round.
Operational Guidelines
- Future Planning for Thai Tourism: Develop measures related to all aspects of Thai tourism, such as support for airlines, accommodations, online travel agencies, and visa facilitation policies.
- Comprehensive Activity Calendar: Create a unified calendar featuring key tourism activities and sports events from various government and private organizations throughout the year. This initiative aims to assist global travelers in planning their trips more conveniently.
- Collaboration for Safety and Convenience: The government seeks cooperation from all sectors, including public and private organizations, to prioritize safety and provide seamless, confidence-inspiring experiences for tourists worldwide.
- Major Campaign Support: As a nationwide effort, all ministries will collaborate to promote tourism. Additionally, Thailand will host significant events, such as:
- The Southeast Asian (SEA) Games from December 9–20, 2025.
- The FIVB Women’s World Volleyball Championships 2025 from August 22–September 7, 2025.
- Tourism Projections for 2025:
- Estimated 29 million tourists from short-haul markets (77.5%).
- Approximately 11 million tourists from long-haul markets (22.5%).
- Overall tourism revenue, both domestic and international, is projected to grow by 7.5% compared to 2024.
