The following are the steps you should know for applying for permission to import cosmetics
The steps for submitting an import permit application for cosmetics
- Register for the personal verification system (Open ID) through https://accounts.egov.go.th/Citizen by selecting the “Register” option.
- Submit a location approval request.
- Submit a cosmetics notification application with the following fees:
- Notification application: 100 Baht per product.
- Notification certificate: 900 Baht per formula (500 Baht per formula for community enterprises registered with the Ministry of Agriculture)
To request permission to import cosmetics in Thailand, you can follow these general steps
- Submit a request for approval of the import location and cosmetic products to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) office or the Provincial Public Health Office
- Request permission to access the cosmetic E-Submission system.
- Request permission from the import location through the “Manage Location” menu.
- Add foreign manufacturers through the menu “Add Foreign Manufacturers”
- Request product authorization through the menu “Request for registration of cosmetics”
- Request permission to import cosmetics at the Food and Drug Administration Customs Division, Telephone: 025 907350, 025 907077
- Request a health product import notification (LPI) through the SKYNET system and the National Single Window (NSW) system.
- Create a goods declaration (Only in the case of importing yourself) through the National Single Window (NSW) system.
- Import cosmetics by going through the 52 customs checkpoints authorized for cosmetics imports by the Customs Department
- Prepare cosmetic labels (the operator is responsible) and the labels must be in the Thai language within 30 days from the date the relevant authorities have inspected and released the import
