Requesting a background check for an e-Passport can be relatively straightforward if you have all the necessary documents and are aware of the steps in advance. The process typically takes about 1-4 days, which is relatively slow. Let’s see how we should prepare:

The documents you need to prepare

  1. National ID Card: Provide your original national identification card as proof of your identity
  2. Power of Attorney (if applicable): If you have authorized someone else to apply for the background check on your behalf, include the relevant power of attorney document as required by the issuing authority
  3. Identification card of the grantor, 1 original copy
  4. Identification card of the attorney-in-fact, 1 original copy
  5. 1 original Power of Attorney affixed with 10 baht duty stamp
  6. For minors under 15 years of age, a parent or guardian of attorney is required. and use the original birth certificate of the minor
  7. One original birth certificate for minors under 7 years of age.
  8. Fee 100 baht

Steps

To apply for a copy of passport history records, you must fill out the information on the application form and submit it along with a genuine copy of your identification card each time.

  1. Submit it for the officer to verify the completeness of the documents
  2. Pay the fee
  3. The officer will review the passport history and prepare a detailed passport history document (takes 2 days) and then send it to the authorized officer for certification (takes about 2 days
