From 15 July to 31 December 2022, the Cabinet gives the green light for MICE tax deduction in Thailand.

It is good news for the official opening of the country that the Cabinet launches the fiscal policy of tax reduction measures for MICE entrepreneurs to stimulate MICE activities in Thailand, starting from 15 July – 31 December 2022. The policy consists of 2 measures as follows:

1. Tax reduction measures to support the domestic training and seminars by deducting expenses paid for seminar rooms, accommodation costs, transportation costs, or other expenses related expenses such as food, travel expenses, airfares, and service fees of the tourism entrepreneurs with the following conditions:

  • The secondary cities are entitled to a tax deduction of 2 times.
  • The central cities are entitled to a tax deduction of 1.5 times.
  • If a training seminar is held in both the secondary province and central city, the expenses should be separated and claimed for tax deduction accordingly. The tax deduction rate will be 1.5 times for costs that cannot be distinguished.

2. Tax reduction measures aim to support the exhibition and domestic trade fairs by deducting expenses incurred from the space rentals or service fees for participating in fairs, exhibitions, or trade shows in the country at two times the actual costs.
